NNPP Lagos State House of Assembly Candidate Expresses Concern over Party Crisis
Razaq Aderibigbe, the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) Lagos state House of Assembly candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency 1, expressed his displeasure with the ongoing internal conflict within the party. Aderibigbe believes that the unresolved conflict of interests has led to varying pronouncements from party leaders. However, he remains optimistic that the party will soon resolve the crisis through adherence to the rule of law and the party's constitution.

Ikorodu, Lagos state - Razaq Aderibigbe, the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) Lagos state House of Assembly candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency 1 during the 2023 general elections, on Friday, September 1, expressed his displeasure with the crisis rocking the party.

Over the last few months, the NNPP has been facing a lingering conflict, with accusations and counter-accusations by party chieftains.

In a chat with Legit.ng, Aderibigbe noted that the NNPP's review of the general outcome of the 2023 elections led to the current conflict. He, however, expressed optimism that the internal conflict would soon be resolved.

Aderibigbe told Legit.ng:

"The Constitution is meant to be in the middle of all the affairs at the moment which would set things right accordingly, but the unresolved conflict of interests is responsible for the varying pronouncement at various corners amongst our leaders.

"Anywhere I found myself, I profess and stand by the rule of law and constitution but nevertheless, a landlord will never be too bad for the tenant to evict him, the tenant will rather excuse the excess by leaving.

"Interestingly, all those involved are my respectable leaders, but my fear is that the court ruling may be required for the interpretation of position and direction to go for the party."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the NNPP on Tuesday, August 29, reportedly announced a six-month suspension of Kwankwaso as the national leader of the party.

According to the party's BoT, Kwankwaso was suspended due to anti-party activities.

The internal conflict within the NNPP has been a cause of concern for party members, including Razaq Aderibigbe. As a candidate for the Lagos state House of Assembly, Aderibigbe understands the importance of a united party to achieve its objectives.

He believes that the current conflict stems from unresolved conflicts of interests among party leaders. Aderibigbe acknowledges the need for the party's constitution and the rule of law to guide the resolution of the crisis.

While recognizing the role of the court in interpreting positions and providing direction for the party, Aderibigbe hopes that the internal conflict will be resolved internally without resorting to legal battles.

As a politician advocating for stability and unity, Aderibigbe urges all parties involved to prioritize the party's interests over personal ambitions. He remains hopeful that the NNPP will overcome this period of turbulence and emerge stronger and more united.

The NNPP's Board of Trustees recently suspended Kwankwaso, the national leader of the party, for alleged anti-party activities. This action adds to the existing tensions within the party.

It is crucial for the NNPP to bridge the divide and establish a harmonious atmosphere in order to effectively champion the aspirations of its members and constituents. Only through unity can the party progress and achieve its goals.
