ABUJA - President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Monday to attend the G-20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, India, on the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This significant forum brings together leaders from the world's major economies to address global challenges and foster international cooperation.

The President's participation in the Nigeria-India Presidential Roundtable and the Nigeria-India Business Conference highlights his focus on attracting global capital and promoting increased foreign direct investments in key sectors of Nigeria's economy. This platform provides an opportunity to showcase Nigeria's attractiveness as an investment destination.

President Tinubu, drawing from his experience in attracting investment to Lagos State, will engage with leading industrialists and government officials from both Nigeria and India. The President's cross-sectoral reform plan, encapsulated by the Renewed Hope Agenda, will serve as a blueprint for promoting job creation, revenue expansion, and sustainable economic growth.

The CEO Roundtable, which includes representatives from the Indian private sector, Nigerian industrialists, and senior government officials, will focus on leveraging global capital for key labour-intensive sectors in Nigeria. The President's vision is to create opportunities for job creation and revenue generation in these sectors.

President Tinubu's private engagements with industrialists further reflect his commitment to attracting investment and fostering economic partnerships. His bilateral meetings with world leaders from different continents, representing both G-20 and non-G20 countries, will strengthen economic, trade, and investment partnerships for mutual benefit.

The G-20 Summit provides a platform for President Tinubu to share Nigeria's perspective on the theme "One Earth-One Family-One Future." This theme emphasizes the need for global unity in addressing the challenges facing humanity and the planet. Nigeria's participation in the G-20 reflects its potential as an economic power and its commitment to socio-economic development.

Nigeria's membership in the G-20 is currently under consideration, with consultations underway to assess the benefits and risks of membership. President Tinubu's participation at the G-20 Summit aligns with the government's objective of democratizing foreign policy and achieving the nation's long-term strategic objectives.

The President's delegation, which includes Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy; and Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, will accompany him on the mission.

Upon the conclusion of the G-20 Summit, President Tinubu will return to Nigeria, with the hope of leveraging the outcomes of the Summit to drive economic growth, attract investments, and foster international partnerships.
