Lagos – Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Kojo Motors Auto Assembly and Natural Gas Facility in Umunya, Oyi local government area of Anambra State. The plant, set to be the second automobile company in the state after Innoson Motors, will also be the first manufacturing automobile company specializing in compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.
During the ceremony, Governor Soludo expressed his pride in this development, deeming it a sign of progress for Anambra State. He emphasized his administration's commitment to industrialization and its positive impact on job creation and economic growth.
Highlighting the potential of Anambra's entrepreneurial population, Governor Soludo said, "Our agenda is to be able to get our people; the most enterprising people on earth, from importation to production. This investment effort will satisfy the local market and export to the world."
The Governor also urged other potential investors to consider Anambra State as a lucrative destination for their businesses. He highlighted the enormous market potential of Nigeria and its projected population growth, citing it as an opportunity for smart business decisions.
Chairman of Kojo Motors, Mr. Ikenna Onuegbu, echoed the sentiment of growth and innovation. He stated, "Our company believes in growth and innovation. We aim to advertise Anambra State through our products and contribute to the technological development of the region."
The new auto assembly and natural gas facility will create direct and indirect employment opportunities, boosting the local economy. Furthermore, the use of CNG vehicles will contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
