Delta Governor Gives Thanks to God at Deputy's Thanksgiving Service
Delta Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed his gratitude to God during a thanksgiving service for his successful inauguration as Governor and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme. He acknowledged that their achievements were a result of God's grace and mercy. The Governor also commended the previous administration for their programs and assured the people of Delta State that his administration would be fair and just in appointments and project distributions.

Delta Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed his gratitude to God during a thanksgiving service to commemorate his successful inauguration as the Governor of Delta State. Joined by his wife, Tobore, the Governor attended the service in honor of his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme at St. John's Anglican Church, Ibabu, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the State.

During the service, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the role of thanksgiving in acknowledging the acts of God in one's life. He stated that despite numerous challenges, he was able to overcome them through God's grace and mercy, leading him to his current position as Governor of Delta State. He expressed his belief that he and his Deputy were products of divine intervention and they would continue to give thanks to God for the opportunity to serve their state.

Furthermore, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the immediate past administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, particularly for their skills training and entrepreneurship programs. He assured the people of Delta State that his administration would build upon these initiatives and ensure the betterment of the lives of the citizens.

In his address to Sir Monday Onyeme, the Deputy Governor, Governor Oborevwori expressed his happiness with their working relationship and acknowledged that it was God who chose both of them for their respective roles. He expressed confidence in their collaboration to implement their M.O.R.E Agenda (Making Opportunities Reach Everyone). He also assured the people of Delta State that his administration would be fair and just in appointments and the distribution of projects.

The Governor concluded by calling on the people of Delta State to continue praying for him and his administration, so that they could fulfill their campaign promises and lead the state towards progress.

Rt. Rev'd Godfrey Ekpenisi, the Bishop of Ika Diocese and Supervising Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, delivered a sermon during the thanksgiving service. Titled "Seven principles of starting and finishing strong," the sermon urged leaders to seek wisdom, promote excellence, be good and disciplined leaders, show love to the people, nurture their families, and honor God throughout their tenures. Bishop Ekpenisi emphasized the importance of discipline and empathy in leadership, stating that true leadership is earned through one's actions.

The thanksgiving service was attended by various dignitaries, including Comrade Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State; Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the immediate past Governor of Delta State; former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan; former Deputy Governors Sir Benjamin Elue and Deacon Kingsley Otuaro; Senator Ned Nwoko; Hon. Victor Nwokolo; Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi; and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, among others.
