Female Pastor and Two Others Arrested in Delta State for Kidnapping
Delta State police have arrested a self-acclaimed female pastor, Mrs. Franca Okuzor, and two other suspects in connection with a kidnapping case in Obiaruku, Delta State. The arrests were made after the victim was released following the payment of a ransom of Two Million Naira and other valuables. The police are currently on the lookout for other members of the gang.

DELTA STATE, LAGOS - In a recent development, the Delta State police have apprehended a self-acclaimed female pastor, Mrs. Franca Okuzor, and two other individuals linked to a kidnapping incident in Obiaruku, Delta State. The arrest comes after the victim was released upon the payment of a ransom of Two Million Naira and other valuable items.

The case was reported to the Obiaruku Police station on July 19, 2023. The distress call came from a family who stated that they were accosted by three masked men armed with guns while returning from their shop. The armed men abducted the mother at the entrance of their house located at Obinoba in Nkwani LGA.

Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass psc, ordered the collaboration of the DPO Obiaruku Police Station and the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad (SAKCCS) to launch an immediate manhunt for the kidnappers and secure the release of the victim.

On July 26, 2023, the kidnappers released the victim after receiving a ransom of Two Million Naira and other jewelry worth approximately Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira. Armed with relevant information, the Delta State Police embarked on an intelligence-led investigation which ultimately led to the arrest of the three suspects.

The first suspect, Kabi Kester, a 43-year-old man, confessed to being a member of the gang involved in the kidnapping. His confession led investigators to the arrest of the other two suspects, Henry Owojero, a 42-year-old man, and Franca Okuzor, a self-acclaimed pastor and the wife of the gang's leader, Celestine Okuzor Nova (who is currently at large).

All three suspects have admitted their involvement in the crime. They have also disclosed the names of four other accomplices - Celestine Okuzor Nova, Uche (surname unknown), Chinedu Etudo, and Nweke (surname unknown). Efforts are underway to track down and apprehend the remaining gang members.

The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Wale Abass psc, lauded the efforts of the police operatives and pledged the commitment of the police force to apprehend all those involved in the crime. He assured the public of the police's dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of Delta State.

The arrest of the self-acclaimed female pastor has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the increasing involvement of individuals in positions of trust in criminal activities. This incident serves as a reminder that security measures should be implemented to prevent such occurrences and protect vulnerable members of society.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the Delta State Police are urging anyone with useful information or tips to come forward and assist in ensuring the swift capture of the remaining gang members.
