Lagos, Aug. 5, 2023 - Chrisland Schools Limited, a leading educational institution in Nigeria, is celebrating the remarkable achievements of two of its students, Mmesomachukwu Okonkwo and Oluwabukolami Adeyemi, who recently received the prestigious British Council Recognition Outstanding Learner's Cambridge Awards (BROCLA).
The BROCLA awards, organized annually by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), seek to recognize the exceptional performances of learners around the world in Cambridge examinations. These accolades not only showcase the outstanding scores and results achieved by Nigerian students but also demonstrate Chrisland Schools Limited's commitment to delivering top-notch education.
Mmesomachukwu Okonkwo, a student at Chrisland High School, VGC, obtained the highest mark in English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement) in the IGSCE and was presented with the Top in the World Award. Meanwhile, Oluwabukolami Adeyemi, a student at Chrisland Pre Degree College Lagos, achieved the highest mark globally in the Cambridge International AS Level Law, earning her the Top in the World Award. She also received the High Achievement Award for Cambridge AS Level Psychology.
Mr Akin Fadeyi, a member of the Advisory Board of Chrisland Schools Limited, expressed his delight at the students' remarkable feat and highlighted the consistent track record of the institution in delivering qualitative, world-class education. He credits the school's success to a dedicated and committed staff, the embodiment of humane culture, values, and ethics, as well as an unwavering focus on fostering the all-round development of their students.
"We have always aimed to raise an enduring generation of leaders in various fields, be it in science, technology, arts, or sports," Fadeyi stated. He proudly mentioned that the latest world featherweight champion, Israel Adesanya, is a product of Chrisland Schools Limited.
For Mmesomachukwu Okonkwo, preparing for the examinations was a slightly challenging experience as it required a combination of theory, writing, and speaking skills. However, with the support of her teachers, who guided her through solving past questions and mock exams similar to the IGSCE examination, she confidently approached the questions, leading to her exceptional performance.
Reflecting on the accomplishment, Okonkwo shared her plans to study Business Management in the UK and described her time at Chrisland Schools as enjoyable and enriching. She looks forward to enhancing her skills while pursuing her university degree abroad.
Oluwabukolami Adeyemi expressed her gratitude to her teachers, principal, and parents for their contributions to her success. She emphasized the value this award adds to her academic career, making her dream of studying law a reality. Furthermore, Adeyemi noted that passing the Cambridge International AS Level examination grants her a direct entry into a UK university, shortening her study period to three years. She hopes to leverage her legal education to make a positive impact on society and hold a leadership position in the future.
The outstanding achievements of Mmesomachukwu Okonkwo and Oluwabukolami Adeyemi at the British Council Recognition Outstanding Learner's Cambridge Awards serve as a testament to the consistency, diligence, and exceptional curriculum of Chrisland Schools Limited.
