Benue State Governor Stresses Commitment to Development, Denies Rift with Party Leader
Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has reiterated his commitment to the development of the state and denied any rift with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Sen. George Akume. Governor Alia made these remarks during his first meeting with media practitioners in the state, where he emphasized the importance of constructive advice and ideas to help achieve the dreams of the people of Benue.

Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has said his government is open to advice, suggestions, and ideas that will further help to develop a Benue that the people have dreamt of. During his inaugural meeting with media practitioners in the state, the governor addressed the speculations suggesting a rift between him and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and APC party leader in the state, Sen. George Akume.

Governor Alia dismissed these insinuations and referred to the individuals spreading them as 'saboteurs.' He made it clear that there is no crisis between him and the SGF, emphasizing his respect for Sen. Akume as a leader and the party leader. The governor urged people to refrain from creating crisis and assured them that saboteurs would be disappointed.

"For the records, I don't have any crisis with the SGF. He is my leader, he is the APC party leader, and I respect that one hundred percent," Governor Alia stated confidently.

Addressing the alleged rift, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia explained that those who manufacture or enhance such crises are attempting to capitalize on creating unnecessary tension. He firmly declared that there is no crisis and the state of Benue needs to focus on development rather than fabricating conflicts.

The governor further conveyed that plans were in place to organize a warm reception for the SGF upon his assumption of office. However, due to overwhelming interest from other North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the celebration has been delayed. Alia emphasized the need to celebrate the SGF's position as a representative of the entire North Central region, rather than succumbing to baseless insinuations and tensions.

Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia extended an invitation to all, assuring residents and stakeholders alike that he is open, available, and accessible. He welcomed advice, suggestions, and ideas that would contribute to the development of Benue State and help transform it into the state of the people's dreams.

The governor's emphasis on openness and inclusivity reflects his commitment to good governance and effective leadership in the state. By fostering an environment of collaboration and engagement, Governor Alia aims to ensure the aspirations of Benue's residents are heard and taken into account.

It is crucial for the media and the public to focus on the facts, rather than succumbing to rumors and speculations. The governor's assurance that there is no rift between him and the SGF should put an end to the unfounded claims, allowing the state to concentrate its efforts on meaningful development and progress.
