NPFL Releases Schedule for 2023-2024 Season
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has released the schedule for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. The season is set to kickoff on September 9, with Enyimba of Aba taking on Bendel Insurance in their title defense opener. The NPFL Board has also announced plans to stream most of the matches live in partnership with Propel Sports Africa/MTN, allowing football fans around the world to enjoy the league.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has unveiled the schedule for the highly anticipated 2023-2024 season. Football enthusiasts all over the country can now mark their calendars as the action-packed season is set to commence on September 9.

The reigning NPFL champions, Enyimba of Aba, will begin their title defense with an exhilarating home match against Bendel Insurance, the winners of the Federation Cup. Football fans can expect a clash of the titans as these two formidable teams battle it out on the pitch.

Another exciting fixture on matchday one will see Shooting Stars of Ibadan go head-to-head with Plateau United. Both teams will be eager to start the season on a high note, making this an encounter not to be missed.

This means that football enthusiasts in Nigeria and around the world will be able to watch the NPFL matches on their phones and smart devices. With coverage spanning over 100 countries, Nigerians at home and abroad can cheer on their favorite teams and players.

Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier League Board, expressed his excitement about the partnership and highlighted the accessibility it will bring to football fans. He stated, "We have an agreement already with Propel Sports Africa to stream at least eight of the 10 matches live. So you can watch almost all of the matches with your phones and smart devices in over 100 countries in the world, this will enable Nigerians in diaspora also watch the NPFL every match day."

In addition to the live streaming initiative, the NPFL Board is committed to improving officiating and the overall experience for teams and fans. Prize money for the league will also be increased, with plans to surpass the 100 million naira awarded in the previous season.

With the return to the full league format, a total of 20 clubs will be vying for the title in 380 matches. The upcoming season promises to be a rollercoaster ride of intense competition, thrilling moments, and unforgettable goals.
