Nigerian Meteorological Agency Predicts Thunderstorm and Cloudiness
NiMet has released its weather outlook predicting thunderstorm and cloudiness across Nigeria from Tuesday to Thursday. The agency advises the public to take necessary safety precautions as heavy rainfall might lead to flash floods. It also urges airline operators to stay updated with weather reports for effective planning.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorm and cloudiness across the country starting from Tuesday till Thursday. The weather outlook, released on Monday in Abuja, projected a cloudy atmosphere on Tuesday with intervals of sunshine over the northern region.

In the morning hours, NiMet anticipated thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, and Kaduna states. The agency also predicted isolated thunderstorms over Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna states later in the day.

Across Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue states, thunderstorms were expected in the morning hours. While parts of Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Niger, and Nasarawa states could experience thunderstorms later in the day.

The coastal states and inland cities of the South are expected to have cloudy atmospheres with thunderstorms over certain areas in the morning hours. Additionally, thunderstorms are anticipated over several southern states later in the day.

On Wednesday, NiMet predicts cloudy skies with spells of sunshine over the northern region. There might be thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Kaduna, and Zamfara states later in the day. The North Central region could experience thunderstorms over parts of Niger, Kogi, Benue, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory.

The inland cities of the South and coastal states are expected to have cloudy atmospheres with chances of thunderstorms over various regions in the morning hours and later in the day.

Thursday's forecast includes cloudy skies and intervals of sunshine over the northern region. Thunderstorms are expected over parts of Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Katsina states in the morning. The North Central region might also experience similar weather conditions.

The South's inland cities and coastal states are expected to have cloudy atmospheres with thunderstorms in the morning hours and later in the day.

NiMet advises the public to take necessary caution during this period. Moderate to heavy rainfall might result in flash floods, thus it is important to avoid driving or walking through floodwaters. The agency also urges disaster risk managers, agencies, and individuals to be proactive in order to prevent loss of lives and property during the rainy season.

Airline operators are advised to stay updated with weather reports and alerts issued by NiMet to effectively plan their operations.
