Enugu State Governors Reveal Perpetrators of Insecurity in the Southeast
Enugu State Governors, in a recent meeting, have disclosed that the perpetrators of insecurity in the Southeast are criminals and not Biafra agitators. They have resolved to fight insecurity decisively and hold a security and economic summit soon. The governors commended the security agencies for their cooperation and urged them not to relent in their efforts.

Enugu - In a closed-door meeting at the Government House, Enugu, the five Southeast governors have revealed the true culprits behind the wave of insecurity plaguing the region. According to Premium Times, the governors unanimously agreed that the insecurity is not a result of Biafra agitation but rather the activities of criminals.

During the meeting, which was attended by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Alex Otti of Abia State, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and Charles Soludo of Anambra State, the Southeast governors firmly resolved to fight insecurity decisively both individually and collectively.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, Governor Hope Uzodinma read the statement and categorically stated, "We wish to state categorically that the perpetrators of the insecurity in the region and their sponsors are criminals and should not be seen as legitimate (Biafra) agitators. Therefore, upon arrest, they (the perpetrators) should be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land."

The governors also announced their decision to hold a security and economic summit in the near future. While the date has not been communicated yet, this summit will serve as a platform to address the current security challenges and explore economic opportunities for the region.

Furthermore, the Southeast governors expressed their appreciation for the cooperation of security agencies in the fight against insecurity. They urged the security agencies not to relent in their efforts to ensure the safety and security of the region.

The recent wave of insecurity in the Southeast has prompted concerns among residents and stakeholders. Various criminal elements, including kidnappers, armed robbers, and bandits, have taken advantage of the situation to perpetrate their nefarious activities.

It is crucial for the governors to take decisive action and strengthen the security apparatus in the region. By identifying the perpetrators as criminals rather than legitimate Biafra agitators, they are sending a clear message that criminal activities will not be tolerated.

The planned security and economic summit will provide an avenue for stakeholders to come together and strategize on ways to combat insecurity, foster economic development, and promote peace and unity in the region.

The Southeast governors' commitment to tackling insecurity head-on is commendable. As leaders, it is their responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of their constituents. By taking a united stand against insecurity, they are sending a strong message that the Southeast is not a safe haven for criminal activities.

In conclusion, the disclosure by the Southeast governors regarding the perpetrators of insecurity in the region is a step in the right direction. It is important for the governors to follow through on their resolution and implement concrete measures to address the security challenges. The upcoming security and economic summit will be a critical platform to discuss and devise effective strategies to restore peace, stability, and progress in the Southeast.
