The Enugu State Ministry of Youths and Sports has announced its remarkable achievements during the first 100 days in office of Governor Peter Mbah. These achievements include a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games, successful hosting of team sports elimination, and skills training for over 100 youths. The ministry is focused on fast-tracking sports development in the state.

The Enugu State Ministry of Youths and Sports has made significant strides in the first 100 days of Governor Peter Mbah's administration. The ministry's Public Relation Officer, Mr Dan Onwuegbuna, released a statement highlighting the achievements of the ministry during this period.

One of the notable achievements was the gold medal won by Enugu State's Destiny Agbo at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Port Louis, Trinidad and Tobago. Agbo made history in the female Discus Para-athletics event, showcasing the talent and determination of Enugu's athletes with disabilities.

The ministry also successfully hosted the South East Under-15 Youth Games Team Sports zonal elimination. Enugu's male football and handball teams emerged victorious and qualified for the national event, demonstrating their prowess and skill.

In addition to sports achievements, the ministry prioritized the development of young people through skills training. Collaborating with the Potters Wheel Foundation, over 100 youths were trained in various skills such as Confectioneries, Cosmetics, Digital marketing, and Tailoring. This initiative aimed to equip the young population with valuable skills and empower them for future success in their chosen fields.

Furthermore, the collaboration with the Potters Wheel Foundation led to the graduation of a visually impaired young woman, Miss Nneka Ndumuanya, in hygienic and skincare products. This remarkable achievement demonstrates Enugu State's commitment to inclusivity and empowerment of all individuals, regardless of their physical abilities.

The ministry also highlighted ongoing projects aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure in the state. The Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium pitch renovation is nearing completion, providing athletes with a modern and well-maintained facility to train and compete. Additionally, the tartan tracks rehabilitation project will soon commence in alignment with Governor Mbah's promise to fast-track sports development in the state.

Overall, the Enugu State Ministry of Youths and Sports has showcased commendable achievements during the first 100 days of Governor Peter Mbah's administration. These accomplishments highlight the state's commitment to sports excellence, youth development, and inclusivity.
