Power Outage Hits Awka as EEDC Blames TCN for Supply Loss
ENUGU Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) announced that Awka is currently facing a power outage due to a loss of supply from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). EEDC assured customers of their efforts to resolve the issue promptly and restore power supply.

Awka, the capital city of Anambra State, is currently experiencing a significant power outage, which has left residents and businesses in the area without electricity. The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has attributed the power disruption to a loss of supply from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station.

A statement from the EEDC Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, explained that the power outage commenced on Wednesday at 6:30 pm and affected all feeders under EEDC in the Awka district. TCN engineers are currently investigating the cause of the power outage and working to rectify the issue.

"We sincerely apologize to our esteemed customers in Awka for the inconvenience caused by this power outage. We understand the impact it has on their daily lives and businesses," said the EEDC spokesperson.

EEDC is working diligently to resolve the situation and restore power supply to Awka as soon as possible. The company is in constant communication with TCN to ensure a swift resolution. TCN engineers are already patrolling the lines to identify the cause of the power outage and expedite the restoration process.

The EEDC spokesperson further assured customers that the company is on standby, ready to address any emerging issues and minimize the duration of the power outage. The loss of supply from the TCN Station has been identified as the primary cause of the power disruption in Awka.

As the power outage persists, residents and businesses in Awka are urged to remain patient and understanding. EEDC is committed to providing regular updates regarding the progress made in resolving the issue. Once power supply is restored, normal activities can recommence, and the affected customers can resume their daily operations without any further inconvenience.

EEDC recognizes the importance of a reliable power supply to the socio-economic development of Awka and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure any power outages are promptly addressed.
