The Katsina State government has announced the creation of the Ministry of Internal Security and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps as part of its strategy to combat insecurity. Governor Dikko Umaru Radda stated that the state has allocated significant resources to empower the people, provide security equipment, and collaborate with international organizations for long-term solutions. The governor urged citizens to remain patient as the government continues its efforts to ensure the safety and prosperity of the state.

In a proactive move to tackle the persistent issue of insecurity, the Katsina State government has taken a decisive step by establishing the Ministry of Internal Security and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps. These new initiatives aim to institutionalize a comprehensive strategy to curb the menace of insecurity within the state.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made the announcement while presenting his first 100 days' scorecard at the Government House council chambers in Katsina. He highlighted the urgent need to address security challenges by empowering the people and enacting a Security Challenges Containment Order. Additionally, an advisory committee has been set up to provide expert guidance.

The government has already recruited 1,500 community watch officers from the 8 frontline local government areas of the state. This move is aimed at enabling and empowering local communities to defend themselves against security threats effectively. To support these officers, the government has allocated over N7 billion naira for the procurement of armored personnel carriers, vehicles, motorcycles, and other necessary security equipment.

Governor Radda emphasized that the government's commitment to fighting insecurity is unwavering. The administration aims to ensure the safety of lives and property by providing free medical care and financial support to victims of banditry. By collaborating with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the government intends to establish Climate Peace Hubs and Prevention Facilities. The pilot project will be implemented in Jibia to help reverse the trend of insecurity across the entire state.

In conclusion, Governor Radda appealed to the citizens of Katsina State to exercise patience as the administration continues to deliver on its mandate to provide security and improve the overall welfare of the people. He emphasized the need for collective efforts and dedication from all sectors of society to overcome the challenges at hand.
