Stakeholders to Discuss Investment Opportunities and Challenges in Nigeria's Energy Sector
Stakeholders will gather on October 5, 2023, to discuss investment opportunities and address challenges in Nigeria's energy sector. The conference will focus on Nigeria's energy transition plan and the need for increased investments to achieve the set goals. Various industry experts, regulators, and key players in the oil and gas sector are expected to attend the conference.

Lagos - The upcoming International Strategic Annual Conference scheduled for October 05, 2023, will bring together stakeholders in Nigeria's energy sector to share insights and discuss investment opportunities amidst challenges. The conference, themed "Nigeria's Energy Transition: Enhancing Investment Opportunities & Addressing Challenges in Oil and Gas Sector," aims to address the dwindling investments in the sector and chart a path towards achieving Nigeria's energy transition plan.

The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC) public relations officer, Opeoluwani Akintayo, stated that the conference would serve as a platform for industry captains, regulators, lawmakers, and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues impacting the energy industry's smooth operations, growth prospects, and opportunities.

The conference is expected to attract high-powered attendance from individuals and organizations across Nigeria and beyond. It will feature expert contributions on Nigeria's energy transition plan set for 2060 and emphasize the need for strategic planning, policies, and execution to achieve the desired results.

Highlighting the urgency of the energy transition, NAEC Chairman, Olu Phillips, mentioned that Nigeria had committed to reaching net zero by 2060. However, there is a lack of significant progress in terms of investments towards this goal. Phillips emphasized the need for stakeholders to engage in serious discussions, make comprehensive plans, and execute them promptly.

The keynote address at the conference will be delivered by Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. This reflects the significance placed on the discussions surrounding investment opportunities and challenges in the energy sector.

The conference chairman for the second time will be Audrey Ezeigbo, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Corporation. With her experience and expertise in the industry, Ezeigbo will play a vital role in guiding the conference discussions.

Notably, several key stakeholders from government bodies, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and major players in the oil and gas sector will be present at the conference. They include the Ministry of Petroleum, NNPCL, Nigeria Upstream Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigeria Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG), Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), Nigerian LPG Association (NLPGA), and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN).

The conference will also witness the presence of CEOs from prominent oil and gas companies such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, Seplat Energy, Axxela, Oando, Ikeja Electric, EKO Electric, TCN, alongside representatives from NIMASA, NERC, NEITI, ANED, AA Holdings, Pengassan, NALPGM, and NLC.

It is evident that the conference aims to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic discussions among stakeholders in order to enhance investment opportunities and overcome challenges in Nigeria's energy sector. The outcomes of this conference have the potential to shape the future of the industry and contribute to the realization of Nigeria's energy transition plan.
