Senator Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu Vows to Resist Election Rigging in Imo State
Senator Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the governorship election in Imo State, vows to resist any attempt to rig the poll and calls on the INEC and security agencies to ensure a violence-free election.

ABUJA – Senator Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu, People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against acts that may tilt the outcome of the poll against the expressed will of Imo people. He vowed to resist any ploy to use thugs or any untoward means to rig the November 11 election.

The PDP candidate also vowed not to compromise or rig the poll, saying that the choice of Imo people must be allowed to prevail to guarantee good governance of the state.

Anyanwu, who addressed journalists of Imo extraction in Abuja on Wednesday, made a passionate appeal to security agencies to heed the cry of Imo people and allow them to choose their governor in a violence-free environment.

Anyanwu lamented that the Eastern heartland has for some time witnessed so much misgovernance by successive administrations and needed conscientious leaders to pull it out from the brink, urging all people of goodwill to join hands and confront the steady decline of the state and restore its lost glory.

According to him, the state has been tethering on a N207 Billion debt burden and with nothing to show for it in terms of infrastructure, investment in education and health with other development indices now in total comatose.

When elected, the PDP National Secretary promised to revamp the economy, ramp up investment in education and health sectors while allowing the local government to function without interference from the state governor.

He observed that a situation where only 23 doctors are currently working in the state health institutions and general hospitals tells a lot about the decay of the sector and the healthcare needs of Imo people.

Anyanwu, who harped his pedigree as a two-term local government area chairman, senator, and national secretary of a big party, maintained that he stands head and shoulders above other competitors.

Imo State is heading towards a crucial governorship election, and the stakes are high for the PDP candidate, Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu. The senator, who is vying for the coveted position, emphasized his determination to see a fair and unbiased electoral process take place.

Anyanwu's warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) comes at a critical time when concerns about electoral fraud and rigging are prevalent. The senator expressed his refusal to compromise or engage in any corrupt practices during the electoral process. His conviction in allowing the voices of Imo people to be heard and their choice to be respected is a testament to his dedication to good governance.

During a press briefing in Abuja, Senator Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu passionately appealed to security agencies to prioritize the safety and security of voters. He urged them to ensure a violence-free atmosphere in which Imo people can exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation.

Imo State has suffered from a series of misgovernance in recent times under consecutive administrations. Senator Anyanwu stressed the importance of conscientious leaders to rescue the state from its current decline and restore its glory. The alarming N207 billion debt burden that Imo State grapples with, along with the absence of significant infrastructure, education, and healthcare investment, illustrates the urgent need for change.

If elected, Senator Anyanwu promises to revamp the economy and prioritize investment in the education and health sectors. He also commits to allowing local governments to operate independently without interference from the state governor. The dire state of the healthcare sector, with only 23 doctors currently serving the state, highlights the urgent need for revitalization and improved healthcare services for the people of Imo State.

Anyanwu's political experience and track record as a two-term local government area chairman, senator, and national secretary of a major party solidify his position as a strong candidate. He believes that his qualifications set him apart from his competitors and make him the ideal choice to lead Imo State forward.

As the November 11 governorship election approaches, Senator Sam 'Daddy' Anyanwu's determination to resist election rigging and his commitment to the welfare of Imo people make him a formidable candidate. The eyes of the state are now on the INEC and security agencies to ensure a transparent, violence-free, and fair electoral process.

Imo people hope for change, good governance, and the restoration of their state's lost glory. Will Senator Anyanwu be the leader to deliver on these promises? Only time will tell.
