The BEMORE Summer Boot Camp in Ondo State is transforming young Nigerian girls into future leaders by providing them with education, empowerment, and opportunities. The initiative, spearheaded by Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, aims to break the cycle of helplessness and build a gender-balanced society. With a focus on STEM+E and entrepreneurial skills, the camp equips girls to make a difference in the world.

In a society where gender inequality persists, the girl child often faces significant limitations. However, the BEMORE Summer Boot Camp in Ondo State is playing a pivotal role in transforming these limitations into opportunities for young Nigerian girls. Led by Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of Ondo State Governor, this initiative is fast becoming a breeding ground for future leaders.

During the closing ceremony of the 2023 BEMORE Summer Boot Camp in Akure, Mrs. Akeredolu emphasized the need to use education as a weapon for empowerment. She recognized the importance of prioritizing the education of the girl child in every society that aspires for change and development. The initiative has placed these girls in a vantage position, providing them with opportunities that many girls around the world do not have.

Mrs. Akeredolu expressed her satisfaction with the camp's impact in equipping young girls with leadership qualities. The camp, which runs for a few weeks each year, focuses on building capacities and transforming lives. It has successfully bridged ethnic, religious, and economic boundaries, turning the girls into female champions.

Over the years, the BEMORE Summer Boot Camp has nurtured incredible talents in solar technology, ICT, and entrepreneurship. With more than three thousand vibrant young women who have graduated from the program, the initiative continues to make waves on multiple fronts.

Recognizing the need for a dedicated space where BEMORE girls can meet, interact, and make things happen, Mrs. Akeredolu announced plans to build an edifice for their training and development. She called on well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to support this project, highlighting the vital role it plays in the emancipation of the girl child.

Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Acting Governor of Ondo State, commended Mrs. Akeredolu for her commitment to empowering young girls. He encouraged the girls to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired to make a significant difference in the world. Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of representing their gender creditably, rejecting gender discrimination and stereotypes.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Rt Hon Victor Olabintan, also applauded Mrs. Akeredolu for her sustained vision in driving STEM+E education amongst girls in Ondo State. The BEMORE Summer Boot Camp plays a crucial role in the development of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Entrepreneurship.

During the ceremony, Miss Oladimeji Folasewa expressed gratitude on behalf of the girls, highlighting the doors of opportunities that the camp has opened for them. She emphasized their commitment to contribute their quota to the development of Ondo State and Nigeria, particularly in the STEM+E field.

The BEMORE Summer Boot Camp is an inspiring initiative that aims to empower young girls and unlock their potential. By providing education, mentorship, and entrepreneurial skills, it is breaking down barriers and creating a gender-balanced society. This commendable effort deserves the support of individuals, organizations, and the wider community to ensure a brighter future for the girl child in Nigeria.
