The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is set to host an international conference focused on reviewing the development in the telecom sector and exploring communication e-systems and innovative systems. The President of NCS, Prof. Adesina Sodiya, announced the event during a press conference held in Lagos. The conference aims to bring the advancement of information technology forward in Nigeria, with the participation of over 1,500 stakeholders from the sector.
The conference, titled "Communications and e-Systems for Economic Stability" (CESES 2023), will cover five main thematic areas:
- Communications Technologies
- Technology Governance
- e-Systems for the Smart City
- e-Government and e-Business
- e-Culture and Digital Society
- e-Health
According to Prof. Sodiya, the conference will provide a platform for students, academic researchers, business leaders, practitioners, and policymakers to deliberate and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of communication and electronic systems. The event will gather experts and professionals from various fields, creating an opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the presence of the Vice President of Nigeria, along with other notable speakers. The participation of high-ranking government officials demonstrates the importance of the event for the development of the country's ICT sector.
Additionally, NCS intends to acknowledge and appreciate the Governor of Bauchi State, who is the Chief Host of the conference. This recognition highlights the commitment and support of the state government towards the growth of information and communication technology in Nigeria.
Notably, the NCS president also expressed the society's willingness to collaborate with the National Population Commission (NPC) in conducting the first digital Population and Housing Census in Nigeria.
