Taraba APC Decries Non-Inclusion of Mohammed Mustapha in Tinubu's Cabinet
The Taraba State All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed disappointment over the exclusion of Mohammed Mustapha, former Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in the state, from President Bola Tinubu's cabinet. The party highlights Mustapha's significant contributions during the last Presidential elections and urges the President to correct the alleged shortchange.

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the non-inclusion of Mohammed Mustapha in President Bola Tinubu's cabinet. Mustapha, who served as the Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in the state during the previous Presidential elections, has been hailed for his exceptional contributions to the party.

According to a statement jointly signed by the APC Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Bashir Bakari, Chairman of the Forum of 16 LG Chairmen (ALGON), and Hon. Bello Hassan, the Representatives of Ward Chairmen, Mustapha played a pivotal role in the success of the APC in Taraba during the Presidential polls.

During the campaign, Mustapha supervised a situation room equipped with modern IT gadgets, which played a crucial role in coordinating and monitoring the election process in Taraba state. The statement emphasized that Mustapha's efforts were instrumental in enabling the APC in Taraba to exceed expectations and secure approximately 30% of the total votes cast in the Presidential election.

The Taraba APC expressed shock and disappointment that individuals who did not contribute as significantly as Mustapha have been rewarded with ministerial appointments in Abuja. The party believes that this unfair treatment undermines the morale of younger party members and diminishes their motivation to work diligently for future political successes.

Addressing President Tinubu directly, the Taraba APC stated that they are aware of his constitutional prerogatives, as outlined in Section 147, to select Ministers from across the country. However, they also believe that the President has the power to rectify past injustices and shortcomings by offering Mustapha the recognition and position he deserves.

The letter to President Tinubu concluded with admiration for his recent inclusion of the Abuja aborigines in his cabinet, a move that rectifies years of exclusion. The Taraba APC hopes that the President will consider rectifying the alleged mistreatment of Mustapha to ensure fairness and maintain the enthusiasm of young party members.

In light of these developments, it remains to be seen how President Tinubu will respond to the Taraba APC's concerns and whether Mohammed Mustapha will have an opportunity to serve in the federal government.
