Nigeria Basketball Federation Reschedules Second Phase of Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced the rescheduling of the second phase of the Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League due to a change in date for the National Youth Games. The Atlantic Conference, which was originally set for September, will now take place in October. However, the Savannah Conference will proceed as scheduled. The NBBF expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the change of dates.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has rescheduled the second phase of the Atlantic Conference of the ongoing Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League from the initial September date to October.

The second phase, which was set to start on September 18 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, will now commence on October 2 and conclude on October 8.

This decision was made due to a change in the dates for the National Youth Games, which are also taking place at the same venue. The scheduling conflict necessitated the rescheduling of the league.

A letter sent to all the affected clubs by the NBBF and made available to the media expressed regret for any inconveniences caused by the change of dates.

"Following the sudden change of dates for the 2023 National Youth Games (NYG) by the Federal Ministry of Sports Development and the Delta State Sports Commission, the Second Phase of the Atlantic Conference of the 2023 NBBF/ZENITH league earlier scheduled to hold from September 18 to 24, has been rescheduled," stated the communication from the NBBF.

The NBBF, however, confirmed that the second phase of the Savannah Conference will proceed as planned. It is scheduled to start on September 18 at the Lafia City Hall, Shendam Road, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The rescheduling of the second phase highlights the challenges encountered in organizing multiple sporting events within the same venue and time frame. It also emphasizes the need for effective coordination and planning to minimize conflicts.

The Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League has been a significant platform for the development and promotion of women's basketball in Nigeria. It has provided talented athletes with opportunities to showcase their skills and compete at a high level.

The league's second phase typically sees intense competition as teams battle for supremacy and strive to secure their place in the playoffs. The rescheduled dates will provide teams with additional time to prepare and strategize for the challenges ahead.

Undoubtedly, fans of women's basketball across the country will mark their calendars and eagerly await the resumption of the league. The second phase promises to offer thrilling encounters and memorable performances.

The NBBF's efforts to ensure a smooth and successful tournament are commendable. By adapting to unforeseen circumstances and making the necessary adjustments, the federation ensures fairness and maintains the integrity of the league.

As the new dates approach, teams, players, and fans alike will eagerly look forward to witnessing the exhilarating action on the court. The rescheduled second phase of the Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League is set to demonstrate the strength, talent, and passion prevalent in Nigerian women's basketball.
