Taraba State Governor Approves Free Medical Check-up for Traditional Rulers
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved free medical check-up for traditional rulers in the State in any hospital of their choice. This gesture aims to prioritize the well-being of the royal fathers and enable them to focus on maintaining peace and security in their domains.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has made a landmark decision by approving free medical check-ups for traditional rulers in the State. This initiative aims to prioritize the health and well-being of the traditional rulers and enable them to concentrate on their roles in maintaining peace, security, and harmonious coexistence in their domains.

The announcement of this approval was made by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Babangida Hassan. He expressed his delight in informing all traditional rulers in the state about the governor's gracious approval for them to undergo medical check-ups in hospitals of their choice.

This decision is the first of its kind since the creation of Taraba State in 1991. It highlights the governor's commitment to the welfare of the royal fathers and acknowledges the vital role they play in mitigating conflicts within their communities. By providing them with access to comprehensive medical check-ups, the governor aims to ensure that the traditional rulers are in good health to effectively carry out their duties.

Mr. Hassan emphasized the importance for traditional rulers to take advantage of this opportunity and undergo thorough diagnoses of their bodies. This will not only contribute to their personal well-being but also show their gratitude for the governor's generosity and commitment to their welfare.

The categories of traditional rulers eligible for this free medical check-up include 1st Class, 2nd Class, and 3rd Class Chiefs. By extending this benefit to all tiers of traditional leadership, the government aims to create a sense of inclusivity and support for the entire traditional institution.

During the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, reiterated the governor's emphasis on the welfare of royal fathers. He highlighted that this initiative would enable the traditional rulers to focus on their core responsibilities of maintaining peace and security in their respective domains.

One of the traditional rulers in attendance, Alhaji Baba Chiruma, the Emir of Old Muri, represented the Aku Uka of Wukari and chairman of Taraba State Traditional Rulers, Manu Ada Ali. He lauded Governor Kefas for his kind gesture towards the traditional rulers and assured the governor of their commitment to peace and development in their respective domains.

This decision sets a positive precedent for other states to prioritize the health and well-being of traditional rulers, who play a crucial role in fostering development and maintaining peaceful coexistence. The governor's commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers in Taraba State serves as an inspiration for other leaders to recognize the importance of supporting royal fathers in their communities.
