Nigerian Military Operations Lead to Elimination and Arrest of Dozens of Insurgents

In a series of military operations conducted in Nigeria over the last two weeks, at least 36 insurgents have been eliminated, and 163 others have been apprehended. The Nigerian armed forces have been working tirelessly to clear the country of armed bandits, kidnappers, and individuals involved in oil theft.

Edward Buba, the official spokesperson for the Nigerian military, announced the success of the operations during a press conference in the capital, Abuja. He revealed that armed bandits, kidnappers, their associates, and individuals engaged in oil theft were among those eliminated and arrested.

The military operations also led to the liberation of 140 hostages who had been held captive by these criminal elements. The rescued individuals can now reunite with their families and begin the process of rebuilding their lives.

In addition to the arrests and rescues, the armed forces seized significant quantities of weapons and stolen goods. The recovered items include eight vehicles, 45 motorcycles, 32 mobile phones, 925 machetes, and 151 machete-sharpening tools. These seizures disrupt the criminal networks and weaken their ability to carry out further acts of violence.

Edward Buba emphasized the importance of these operations in dismantling the infrastructure of criminal organizations and restoring peace and security in Nigeria. He stated, "The Nigerian armed forces remain resolute in their commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizens. We will continue to conduct targeted operations to neutralize threats and bring criminals to justice."

The military operations also resulted in the surrender of 313 suspected terrorists and their family members. Among the individuals who surrendered, there were 12 adult males, 138 adult females, and 163 children. This surrender provides an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society, offering a chance for these individuals to abandon violence and embrace a more peaceful path.
