Briclinks Africa Plc Plans to Reach One Million Subscribers in the Next Four Years
Briclinks Africa Plc, a prospective telecommunications firm, has unveiled its ambitious plans to attract one million subscribers in the next four years. The company aims to achieve this goal by leveraging voice calls and mobile internet services. Briclinks Africa Plc also intends to hit the stock market to increase its share capital base, while considering loan facilities for its mobile virtual network operator license. With a focus on providing fast and affordable mobile internet services, the company aims to become a sought-after brand in the industry.

ABUJA - Briclinks Africa Plc, a prospective telecommunications firm, is determined to secure at least one million subscribers within the next four years. The company plans to leverage voice calls and mobile internet services to achieve this ambitious goal, positioning itself as a leading player in the industry.

Speaking at the inaugural Annual General Meeting held in Abuja, Mohammed Buhari, the Managing Director and CEO of Briclinks Africa Plc, outlined the company's projections and strategies. Buhari revealed that the company is currently operating in Nigeria and Kenya, with plans to expand its products and services to cater to the needs of over 140 million African migrants. The aim is to enable seamless communication and international calling for these individuals to connect with their friends and family worldwide.

To finance its growth plans, Briclinks Africa Plc intends to enter the stock market and increase its share capital base from N10 million to N500 million. This will be achieved through the issuance of ordinary shares worth N50 kobo each, including rights issuer insurance. By making this move, the company aims to boost its financial strength and gain the necessary resources to support its projected annual growth rate of over 100%.

In addition to the stock market, Briclinks Africa Plc is also considering utilizing direct/indirect loan facilities to kickstart its mobile virtual network operator license (MVNO). This strategic approach will provide the capital required to establish a robust infrastructure and offer competitive services to its target market.

Buhari emphasized the company's commitment to becoming the most sought-after brand in the provision of fast and affordable mobile internet services. He highlighted how the company has evolved and adapted over the years, citing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, economic activities were significantly affected by the pandemic. However, by the end of 2020, the market began to recover, and Briclinks Africa Plc managed to deliver solid growth performance despite the challenges. Buhari mentioned that the company received a Private Network Links (PNL) from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide mobile internet services and voice calls. This regulatory approval further strengthened the company's position and allowed it to continue expanding its foothold in the market.

Looking back at the company's journey, Buhari revealed that Briclinks Africa Plc attained significant milestones. In 2018, the company obtained its first license as an Internet Service Provider (ISP). This enabled Briclinks Africa Plc to set up the necessary infrastructure, providing fixed wireless broadband services in Abuja, Akwa Ibom, and Lagos.

During the Annual General Meeting, the board members and shareholders elected Dr. Seinde Fadeni as the Non-Executive Chairman. Furthermore, Olumuyiwa Olumekun, Mr. Feraz Javed Ahmed, and Olajumoke Maikal were appointed as independent directors.

Buhari estimated that Briclinks Africa Plc aims to tap into a $1.7 billion total market demand for telecom services in Nigeria. With a population of 210 million citizens, the company targets 10 million subscribers within the next five years. The identified target market includes individuals aged between 15 and 65 years.

To achieve this goal, Briclinks Africa Plc plans to implement an effective marketing strategy, which involves corporate marketing through social media branding and advertisements. The company will also focus on segmenting and targeting its customer base to maximize its reach and impact.

With its ambitious growth plans, Briclinks Africa Plc is poised to revolutionize the telecommunications industry in Nigeria and beyond. The company's commitment to providing fast and affordable mobile internet services positions it as a key player in meeting the evolving communication needs of the African diaspora.
