Warri - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to renew the oil pipelines surveillance contract with Tantita Security Services Limited to sustain maximum crude oil production and ensure a clean environment in the Niger Delta region. Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, made this call, highlighting the significant role played by Tantita Security Services Limited in collaboration with Government Security Agencies (GSA) to combat criminal acts of economic sabotage and protect critical assets in the volatile Niger Delta region.
Otuaro emphasized that the coordinated fight against alleged economic saboteurs, responsible for the vandalization of pipelines, well heads, and other critical assets, has resulted in a reduction in such activities. This, in turn, has led to increased crude oil production per day and a more stable environment in the oil-rich region. He stressed that Tantita Security Services Limited plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation's oil and gas assets while combating the scourge of crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
Speaking on behalf of Tantita Security Services Limited, Otuaro implored President Tinubu to recognize the significance of upholding the existing partnership with the company. He highlighted the benefits already experienced by the Federal Government, with increased revenue from crude oil sales as a direct result of the partnership. Otuaro emphasized the critical role of crude oil and gas sales, tax receipts, and investments linked to the oil and gas industry in the fiscal foundations of the national and state governments.
Otuaro also highlighted the suitability of Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, the purported owner of Tantita Security Services Ltd, to handle the task of securing the pipelines. Citing Tompolo's background as an indigene of Okerenkoko and Obotobo in Delta State, Otuaro noted that Tompolo possesses an intimate comprehension of the challenges posed by crude oil theft, vandalism, and environmental despoliation in the region. He believes that Tompolo's competence and profound insight make Tantita Security Services Limited a perfect fit for the job.
As the call for the renewal of the oil pipelines surveillance contract gains momentum, it remains to be seen how President Tinubu and the relevant authorities will respond. The Niger Delta region, known for its oil wealth, relies on effective security measures to combat criminal activities and protect critical assets. The partnership between Tantita Security Services Limited and the government has shown promising results, contributing to increased crude oil production and revenue. The renewal of the contract would ensure the continuity of these positive outcomes while promoting a clean and secure environment in the Niger Delta region.
