Lagos - The Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC) is set to confer honorary doctorate degrees on twenty-three eminent individuals at the forthcoming event taking place in September 2023. The conference, which will be held in Abeokuta, Nigeria, is organized by Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc. in conjunction with Immanuel Institute of Theology based in South Africa.

Leading the list of awardees are the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and popular Arise Television presenter, Mr. Rufai Oseni. Both will be receiving a Ph.D. in Leadership (Honoris Causa) in recognition of their notable contributions and impact on society.

Another notable media professional, Pastor Ayo Arowojolu, will be conferred with a Ph.D. in Theology (Honoris Causa) at the event. In addition, prominent preachers Pastor Conrad Oberle from Germany and Dr. Mrs. Tamike Vudunt Brown from the United States will also be awarded doctoral degrees.

The accompanying three-day Leadership Conference, with the theme "Regenerative Leadership," seeks to address the challenges of poor leadership in Nigeria. Professor Olusesi Obateye, the International Coordinator of the Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc., emphasizes that good leadership is crucial for the nation's progress.

Prof. Obateye stresses the importance of "regenerating leadership" through reconstruction, reawakening, replanting, refocusing, and re-examining. He emphasizes the need for leaders to reproduce themselves and build strong networks within their communities and sectors.

The conference aims to broaden knowledge and capacity among leaders across various strata of Nigerian society, including youths, government officials, and religious leaders. By hosting speakers from diverse backgrounds, the conference seeks to impact participants with a wider perspective and inspire positive change in society.

The conference has previously been held in several countries, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. This marks the fourth time that Nigeria will host the conference, following successful events in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

The LEIC conference will not only recognize outstanding individuals but also provide a platform for leadership development and enrichment. With participants from 18 countries expected to attend, it offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and empower leaders to create a brighter future for Nigeria.
