Benue State Governor Urges New Appointees to Prioritize Productivity and Generosity
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, has called on the newly sworn-in appointees to prioritize productivity and capability in the discharge of their duties. He warned against treating their appointments as mere political patronage and urged them not to deprive the people of Benue of dividends of democracy through stinginess. The governor also emphasized the need for the appointees to create positive change and be generous in dealing with the citizens.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, has urged the newly sworn-in appointees not to consider their appointments as mere political patronage. During the swearing-in ceremony of commissioners and special advisers, the governor emphasized the importance of productivity and capability in the discharge of their duties.

The governor warned against depriving the people of Benue of dividends of democracy through stinginess. He emphasized that sustainability in their positions would depend on their productivity and capability. Rev. Fr Alia congratulated the appointees and urged them to work assiduously in order to uphold the trust and faith reposed in them by the people.

"Benue people have placed so much trust in you, and I am urging you all not to disappoint them," said the governor. He called on the appointees to be champions of progress, strive to create positive change, and be generous in dealing with the citizens of Benue.

In addition, the governor cautioned against the habit of peddling rumors to tarnish the name of personalities and the government of the state. He urged individuals to always verify their facts before making any public statements. Rev. Fr Alia emphasized that presenting inflammatory statements to create disaffection would not be tolerated.

The governor declared that the time for politics and campaigning had come to an end, and now was the time for governance, regardless of political affiliations. He called on the newly sworn-in appointees to prioritize the development of the state and contribute to its progress.

Rev. Fr Alia also had a message for the youth of Benue State. He urged them to find ways to contribute their quota to the development of the state and resist allowing themselves to be manipulated by money-bag politicians for selfish interests.

Furthermore, the governor urged the families and friends of the appointees not to burden them with excessive expectations. Instead, he called on them to support their loved ones in their work of service to the state and encourage their success.

A total of 17 commissioners and 23 special advisers were sworn-in during the ceremony. The governor expects the appointees to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication and integrity.
