JAMB Collaborates with Federal Housing Authority to Provide Affordable Housing for Staff
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has partnered with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to secure affordable housing for its staff. The ongoing Bwari Mass Housing project will offer staff members the opportunity to acquire homes that fit their budget. The collaboration aims to enhance staff welfare and provide a conducive living environment for JAMB employees.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), under the leadership of Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, is committed to prioritizing the welfare of its staff members. In line with this philosophy, the Board has forged a partnership with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to facilitate the acquisition of affordable housing for its employees.

The collaboration between JAMB and FHA was formalized during a meeting held at the FHA Headquarters in Abuja. The Registrar, accompanied by key members of the Board's management and representatives from the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), expressed the Board's interest in facilitating home ownership for interested staff members.

The collaboration revolves around the ongoing Bwari Mass Housing (BMH) project, which aims to provide affordable housing units in the Bwari area. The BMH project spans over 254 hectares of land, with the initial phase occupying 32 hectares. It is anticipated that the first phase will comprise 312 units of 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom flats.

According to the General Manager of Property Management at FHA, ESV. Ibrahim Dang, the payment for these housing units can be made either as a lump sum or in three installments. The Bwari Mass Housing Estate boasts a serene environment that fosters good neighborliness and collective security. Additionally, its proximity to the city center and accessibility through the rail station makes it a promising investment for the future.

Mrs. Adama Kure, the Executive Director of Finance at FHA, warmly welcomed the Board's delegation and commended Prof. Is-haq Oloyede for his commitment to staff welfare. She highlighted FHA's core mandate of providing decent housing for Nigerians and emphasized the desire to support JAMB in securing housing for its staff.

The first phase of the Bwari Mass Housing project is nearing completion, and JAMB, as well as the Nigeria Law School, are targeted due to the estate's favorable location. The collaboration between JAMB and FHA underscores the commitment toward enhancing staff welfare and ensuring JAMB employees have access to reasonably priced homes within a pleasant community.

This collaboration not only serves the interests of JAMB staff but also demonstrates the commitment of both organizations to promoting social well-being and economic stability. As the completion of the Bwari Mass Housing project draws nearer, JAMB employees can look forward to the prospect of affordable and comfortable accommodation, reaping the benefits of a secure and friendly living environment.
