Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has donated 150 motorcycles to members of Edo State Security Vigilante Network (ESSVN) to boost their operations in ensuring the security of lives and properties across the state. The motorcycles will enable them to access remote areas and provide security for the people of Edo State.

In a bid to enhance the security measures in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki has generously donated 150 motorcycles to members of the Edo State Security Vigilante Network (ESSVN). The governor handed over the motorcycles during a ceremony held at the Government House in Benin City. The donation aims to bolster the operations of the ESSVN, enabling its members to effectively access remote areas and provide enhanced security to the people of Edo State.

The motorcycles will play a crucial role in expanding the reach of the ESSVN's security efforts. With these vehicles at their disposal, the vigilante network can swiftly respond to potential threats and monitor areas that were previously challenging to access. By providing better mobility, the motorcycles empower the ESSVN to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively.

Additionally, the Edo State Chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has also joined efforts in strengthening the ESSVN's capabilities. ALGON donated 18 Toyota Sienna buses, which will further boost the operational capacity and motivation of the ESSVN personnel.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Governor Obaseki emphasized the importance of these contributions towards ensuring the security of lives and properties in Edo State. He stated, "We are handing over 150 motorcycles to members of Edo State Vigilante Security Network to enable them to access remote areas and provide security to our people in Edo State."

Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, the Edo State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, expressed gratitude to Governor Obaseki and ALGON for their support. He mentioned that the 18 Sienna buses donated by ALGON will significantly enhance the ESSVN's operational capabilities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and increasing revenue generation to enable the acquisition of additional resources for the network.

Colonel Kole Omomia (Rtd), the Coordinator of ESSVN, conveyed his appreciation for the donations while assuring the governor that the motorcycles and buses would be used judiciously. He highlighted the network's commitment to reducing crimes and criminality in Edo State to the barest minimum.

The ESSVN plays a vital role in maintaining law and order within Edo State. Their dedication to the security of lives and properties deserves recognition and support. By equipping them with motorcycles and buses, Governor Godwin Obaseki and ALGON have demonstrated their commitment to collaborating with the ESSVN to safeguard the well-being of the people of Edo State.

The donations will undoubtedly contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all residents of Edo State. It is a commendable step towards building a robust security system and fostering peace within the state.

The generosity exhibited by Governor Obaseki and ALGON sets a remarkable example for others to follow. Together, through collective efforts and resource allocations, we can enhance the security infrastructure and protect the lives and properties of Edo people.
