The Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) has announced a planned power outage for its customers in Plateau, Bauchi, and Gombe States. The outage will last from August 28 to September 2, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled the outage to allow its contractors to make installations in the area.

In an official statement released by the Head of Corporate Communications at JED, Dr. Friday Elijah, the power outage is necessary for the Local Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors to safely connect the newly constructed APO line to the existing Lafia line-Jos 330kV double circuit. The Jos complex, however, will remain on supply via the Kaduna-Jos 330kV line.
Dr. Elijah urged JED's valued customers to exercise patience and bear with the situation during the planned outage. He emphasized that the outage is temporary and is crucial for the improvement and upgrade of electrical infrastructure in the region.
The announcement of the planned power outage comes as a reminder for customers to make necessary preparations and arrangements to minimize inconveniences during the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily blackout windows.
