Abia Diasporans Urged to Join Hands in State Development
Former Senator Chris Adighije has called on Abia Diasporans to contribute to the development of the state by promoting science and technological transfers and establishing modern industrial complexes. He emphasized the need for collaborations that would complement the state government's efforts and transform Abia into a global epicenter of science, industry, and commerce. Adighije believes such endeavors will not only boost economic growth but also help reduce violent crimes and secure investments in the state.

The Former Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Water Resources, Senator Chris Adighije, has urged persons of Abia origin in the Diaspora to join hands in the development of the state. He emphasized the need for Abia Diasporans to come up with robust mechanisms that would ensure the transfer of 21st-century science and technology, thereby enhancing the development of the Southeast state.

As the state recently marked its 32nd Anniversary, Adighije called on friends and the people of Abia State, within and outside the state, to remain optimistic about the state's potential for growth and triumph despite past challenges. He acknowledged the state's resilience and urged Abians to unite and work towards a brighter future.

Adighije commended the progressive and result-oriented Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, and also congratulated the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who is an illustrious son of Abia. He called on all residents to collaborate with the state government in taking the state to greater heights.

The former geology lecturer stressed the importance of tapping into the technological and commerce feats of the state, such as the Araria market, which attracts visitors from far and wide and boosts the state's revenue. To further consolidate on these achievements, Adighije emphasized the need for Abians in the diaspora to start thinking about home and contribute to the state's development.

According to Adighije, the establishment of modern industrial complexes in Abia will help absorb the numerous graduates produced every year by tertiary institutions in the state. He believes that by creating platforms for collaborations and supporting the state government's infrastructural and socio-economic drive, Abia can become a global epicenter for science, industry, and commercial success. This, in turn, would lead to a reduction in violent crimes and ensure the safety of repatriated investments.

Adighije concluded his statement by reminding Abians that a developed Abia benefits everyone. He called on the people to take charge of their destinies and work together towards building a prosperous and successful state.

As Abia State looks forward to its 33rd anniversary in 2024, it is evident that the collective efforts of Abians, both at home and abroad, are crucial for the realization of the state's potential and overall development.
