Delta State Governor Swears in 26 New Commissioners with a Call for Fairness and Service Delivery
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has sworn in 26 new commissioners in the state and urged them to uphold fairness, equity, and justice in their actions for effective service delivery. The Governor emphasized the need for dedication, humility, and accountability in discharging their responsibilities. He also highlighted the importance of the M.O.R.E agenda, which focuses on economic growth, human capital development, infrastructure, and improved governance. The newly sworn-in commissioners expressed their gratitude and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the administration's agenda.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Tuesday, swore in twenty-six new commissioners in the state with a call on them to ensure fairness, equity, and justice to guide their actions for effective service delivery.

The Governor, speaking at the inauguration which was held at the Events Centre Asaba, emphasized the need for dedication and diligence in discharging their responsibilities in the overall interest of the people.

The twenty-six commissioners who took the oath of office are a blend of youth and experience, carefully selected based on competency, representation, and sectoral spread.

Governor Oborevwori stated, "You are among the privileged few from the list of other eminently qualified persons. I must confess that to arrive at this list was a very tasking and painstaking process."

He further stated, "The youth represent a breath of fresh air while the old hands are needed for their maturity, wisdom, mentoring, and stability of the system."

In his charge to the newly sworn-in commissioners, the Governor emphasized the need for humility and the avoidance of pride and arrogance. He reminded them that their appointment is a call to higher responsibility and that they must justify the confidence bestowed upon them by demonstrating good judgment, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the development of the state and the welfare of the people.

The Governor highlighted the M.O.R.E agenda of his administration, which focuses on inclusive and sustainable economic growth, private sector job creation, human capital development, infrastructure improvement, and governance and accountability systems. He stressed that the successful implementation of these programs requires drive, focus, innovation, fiscal discipline, and judicious allocation of resources.

Furthermore, Governor Oborevwori urged the commissioners to monitor the progress of projects within their ministries and establish mechanisms for feedback and evaluation. He emphasized the power of personal example and called on them to be role models in punctuality, discipline, hard work, excellence, honesty, transparency, and accountability.

The Governor also emphasized the importance of fairness, equity, and justice in their actions, encouraging the commissioners to maintain an open-door policy and be accessible to all citizens of the state.

Responding on behalf of the newly sworn-in commissioners, Miss Orode Uduaghan thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the execution of the administration's M.O.R.E agenda.

The swearing-in inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including the wife of the Governor, Deputy Governor of the State, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Deputy Governors, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and Senators, among others.
