Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal (PEPT). He emphasized that Tinubu's victory at the polls was never in doubt, as the Nigerian people made a resolute choice when they voted for him on February 25, 2023, during the presidential elections.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu lauded the tribunal's ruling, asserting that it further solidifies the legitimacy of Tinubu's election and serves as a testament to the people's verdict. Kalu, a lawyer himself, praised the thoroughly professional manner in which the five-man panel, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, interpreted the law and dispensed justice.

Despite facing distracting litigations from his opponents, President Tinubu has remained focused on governance, diligently working towards fixing the challenges faced by the nation. Kalu commended Tinubu for his unwavering commitment and perseverance in the face of adversity.

Kalu also acknowledged the opposition candidates for their role in deepening democracy by resorting to legal means to address their grievances. He commended their decision not to incite violence or engage in extra-judicial actions, but rather to pursue legal recourse to seek justice.

The Deputy Speaker called upon Tinubu's opponents to embrace the Renewed Hope agenda of the current administration. He urged them to put an end to their legal pursuit and join hands with the President and all well-meaning Nigerians, transcending political divides to collectively drive the country forward.

In a related development, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu congratulated the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. Nkiruka Onyejiocha, on her victory at the Tribunal. Onyejiocha emerged successful in the Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State.

The triumph of both President Tinubu and Minister Onyejiocha at the Tribunal signifies a significant milestone in their political careers. It provides them the opportunity to consolidate their respective positions and continue working towards the betterment of Nigeria and its people.
