Labour Party Denies Peter Obi's Involvement in US Court Petition against Tinubu
Labour Party spokesperson, Obiorah Ifoh, has refuted claims that Peter Obi, the party's candidate in the 2023 presidential election, filed a petition against President Tinubu in a US court. While the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken their battle to the US court, the Labour Party maintains that Obi relies on the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Nigeria. The party is confident in their evidence and believes Obi should be declared the authentic winner of the election.

FCT, Abuja - Obiorah Ifoh, the national publicity secretary of the Labour Party (LP), has refuted claims that Peter Obi, the party's candidate in the 2023 presidential election, filed a petition against President Bola Tinubu in a US court.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, initiated legal proceedings against President Tinubu's victory in the US court. Atiku filed a separate case No. 23-5099 (N. D. III.) at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

In response to the speculation, the national publicity secretary of the Labour Party stated that Peter Obi did not imitate Atiku's move:

"Our candidate did not petition any court in the US concerning Tinubu. I think only Atiku did that. But what we are saying is that Mr Peter Obi should be declared the authentic winner of the election after winning a majority of lawful votes.

"Despite the shenanigans perpetrated during the election, Obi still clearly won. We have provided the evidence to support our position, and we know that the learned justices will allow themselves to be guided by the evidence before arriving at a judgment. This is our position, and nothing can change it."

While the Labour Party maintains their reliance on the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Nigeria, the PDP has chosen to pursue legal action in the US.

The PDP's concerns revolve around President Tinubu's academic background from primary school to university, which they believe to be questionable.

It is worth noting that the LP shares Obi's goal in challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC's) declaration of Tinubu as Nigeria's president. However, their approach differs from the PDP's.

Regardless of the outcome, the fight for justice continues in Nigeria's electoral process. As the evidence is presented in court, the justices will play a crucial role in considering all arguments and reaching a fair judgment.

In addition to the news surrounding the court proceedings, Apostle Tony Anthony, the spiritual head of the Souls For Christ Ministry, recently shared a prophecy on his Facebook page. The cleric predicted a force that would humiliate Tinubu and move him out of power, regardless of the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

The prophecy adds another layer of intrigue to the ongoing political situation, leaving room for speculation and anticipation surrounding the future of Nigeria's leadership.

Conclusion

As the controversy surrounding the 2023 presidential election persists, the Labour Party distances itself from claims that Peter Obi filed a petition against President Tinubu in a US court. While Obi and the LP seek justice through the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Nigeria, the PDP has opted for legal action in the US. The coming weeks will shed light on the validity of their claims and the fate of Nigeria's political landscape.
