Fatal Auto Crash in Abuja Under Investigation
Police in Abuja are launching an investigation into a fatal auto crash that occurred in the Dutse area of the city. Three people have been confirmed dead, while others are receiving medical treatment. Officers have secured the vehicles involved in the accident, including a car registered to an officer of the Department of State Security. The Commissioner of Police expresses condolences to the families of the deceased and promises to provide updates on the investigation.

Tragedy struck in the Dutse area of Abuja as a fatal auto crash claimed the lives of three individuals. The incident has prompted the police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The Command, through its spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, expressed deep sadness over the multiple crashes that occurred near Dutse Baupma over the weekend. It was in response to a distress call from a concerned citizen that police officers swiftly moved to the scene and rushed the victims to Kubwa General Hospital for urgent medical attention.

According to Adeh, three people tragically lost their lives in the accident. The victims have been identified as Hosea Stephen, 34, from EFAB Metropolis Estate, Karasana, Abuja; Muhammad Lawal, 32, from Jere, Kaduna State; and Bashir Shaibu, 25, also from Jere, Kaduna State.

While the injured individuals, Maria Ibeku, 21, Ebuka Eleodimuo, 38, Joy Adebayo, 36, and Bashir Haruna, 25, are currently receiving medical treatment at Kubwa General Hospital, the police have secured the four vehicles involved in the accident. These include a black Toyota Camry with registration number YAB 355 AH, a Toyota Pilot, a truck with unknown registration numbers, and a tricycle with registration number KUJ 571 VE.

However, an interesting twist to the incident was the removal of a Toyota Jeep with registration number BWR 468 CD from the scene by personnel from the Department of State Security (DSS). The owner of the vehicle has been identified as David C.Y Audu, a resident of Ushafa, Abuja. The reasons behind this action remain unknown.

The police spokesperson urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue into the causes and circumstances surrounding the accident. The Commissioner of Police extended his deepest sympathies to the families, relatives, and loved ones of the deceased. The police will provide timely updates on any new developments related to the case.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic regulations. Accidents can happen at any time and have devastating consequences. It is the responsibility of both drivers and pedestrians to prioritize safety on the roads.

The investigation launched by the Abuja police aims to uncover the truth behind the accident and establish whether any parties are liable for the loss of lives.

As the families mourn their loved ones and the injured victims recover, the police and relevant authorities must take swift action to ensure justice prevails. This incident should also serve as a wake-up call for authorities to enhance road safety measures and enforce stricter traffic regulations.

It is hoped that the investigation will shed light on the circumstances that led to this fatal auto crash and provide closure to the affected families. In the meantime, the Abuja community mourns the loss of those who perished, and thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families during this difficult time.
