2023/2024 NPFL Season Schedule Released with Live Streaming Option

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has unveiled the matchday one schedule for the highly anticipated 2023-2024 campaign season. Football stakeholders, led by Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier League Board, gathered in Abuja for a colourful draw.

The reigning NPFL champions, Enyimba of Aba, will commence their title defense at home with a thrilling clash against Bendel Insurance, the reigning Federation Cup champions. This titanic showdown promises to set the tone for an exciting season ahead.

In another enticing encounter, Shooting Stars of Ibadan will face off against Plateau United, while Akwa United and Bayelsa United lock horns. Other fixtures for matchday one include Niger Tornadoes vs Abia Warriors, Remo Stars vs Rivers United, Katsina United vs Kwara United, Kano Pillars vs Sunshine Stars, Lobi Stars vs Heartland FC, Sporting Lagos vs Gombe United, and Enugu Rangers vs Doma United.

Excitingly, the NPFL Board has struck a game-changing deal with Propel Sports Africa and MTN to ensure most of the matches are streamed live. Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier League Board, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership during his interaction with the press.

"We have already reached an agreement with Propel Sports Africa to stream a minimum of eight out of ten matches live. This means that football enthusiasts across the globe can watch almost all the matches with their smartphones and other smart devices in over 100 countries, including Nigerians in the diaspora," Elegbeleye explained.

He further elaborated on the specifics of the streaming service, stating, "The MoU signed with Propel Sports Africa and MTN will enable Nigerians to enjoy live NPFL action by subscribing at a token fee."

With this exciting development, Nigerians will be able to follow their favorite teams and players throughout the entire 2023-2024 NPFL season, regardless of where they are in the world. The live streaming initiative is a testament to the NPFL Board's commitment to bringing the league closer to fans while enhancing its global reach.

Aside from the live streaming option, the NPFL Board is working diligently to improve officiating standards and increase prize money for the league. In the last season, the prize money stood at 100 million naira, and efforts are underway to boost that figure in the upcoming campaign.
