The African Director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), Ambassador John Metchie, has expressed concern over the recent surge of military coups in Africa. He called on African leaders to prioritize the safety and welfare of ordinary citizens, urging them to prevent political shenanigans from escalating into wars and social crises. Metchie highlighted the need for regional organizations like the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to address the underlying causes of political instability and find peaceful solutions to avert destruction and further impoverishment of the African people.
