Boat Mishap in Niger State: Death Toll Rises to 30+30
The death toll from the recent boat mishap in Niger State has risen to 30, according to the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA). The agency has successfully rescued 30 individuals, while 27 of the deceased were women and three were male children. The tragedy occurred in the Gbajibo area where victims from Gbajibo, Ekwa, and Yankyade communities were on their way to their farms across the river Niger. The actual number of passengers on the boat remains unknown, making it difficult to determine the exact number of missing individuals. The search and rescue operations have been halted, awaiting further need.
